Gerald Chukwuma is an acclaimed contemporary Nigerian artist known for his intricately crafted wood-slate panels embedded with upcycled metal, cans, and phone cards. A graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, his work combines modern techniques with traditional Uli and Nsibidi aesthetics to explore themes of migration and memory in exhibitions globally, including The Armoury Show. Committed to nurturing the next generation, he founded the Gerald Chukwuma Art Prize in 2022, providing vital financial support and solo exhibition opportunities to top fine arts graduates.
