Clinton Ndubuisi
Visual Artist & Curator
Lagos, Nigeria
Clinton Ndubuisi (b. 1993) is a Lagos-based visual artist and curator whose practice examines identity, endurance, and transformation. A painting graduate of Ahmadu Bello University. Zaria, Clinton explores the "metamorphosis of the self," using the human figure to investigate resilience within systems of constraint. His work is rooted in Afrocentric narratives, focusing on how growth is cultivated through survival and expectation
A defining element of his visual language is the replacement of human heads with flowers, symbolising inner life, emotional healing, and the process of "becoming." Technically, he balances strong contour lines with expressive colour fields to mirror the tension between internal composure and external turbulence
Beyond the studio, Clinton is a prominent leader in the Nigerian art scene. He has curated major exhibitions, including Unbound 2025 and A Fruitful Place (2024), and has exhibited alongside masters like Professor Jerry Buhari. Through his practice, he builds communal spaces where identity blooms despite environmental challenges
