Tósìn Paul Àjàyí

Tósìn Paul Àjàyí (b. 1998, Akure, Nigeria) lives and works in Akure. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine and Applied Arts (Painting) from the University of Benin, Edo State, in 2021. Tósin's paintings feature figures composed of organic and inorganic bold shapes rendered in a vibrant, colourful palette. His current practice explores cultural background and personal identity through an autoethnographic lens, weaving Yoruba symbolism and lived experiences into contemporary expression.
Recent exhibitions include One In All Art salon, Tola Wewe Art Gallery, Ondo (2025); Building a Common Heritage Through Art at Thought Pyramid Art Centre, Abuja (2025); The relentless at the national gallery of art, Benin (2025); and We Are Who We Say We Are at One Art Gallery, Lagos (2025), along with themes of life in my city and more. He has participated in the Lighthouse Art Community Residency at Lighthouse Art Institute, Ondo (2025); Antmen Studios workshop and residency, Benin (2025); and is among the finalists for the Next of Kin Series 8, as well as participating in the group show Fragment of Being at Thought Pyramid Art Centre, Lagos, on April 5, 2026.
